In my experience you don’t generate ideas — you beg, borrow, and steal them. Sounds cynical. It isn’t…. By developing the ability to see inspiration everywhere and to use that inspiration, regardless of its source, to influence your own work, you make yet another “invisible” — idea/inspiration — visible.

Talented people continuously design bad software-based products, we need technology to work the way average people think. Somewhere out there is a happy medium that makes these types of products both user and bottom-line friendly.

You can’t solve a problem with the same thinking that created it.

Architects and Engineers

Why Metrics?

Primary goals of most commerce driven web sites:
1- High Traffic Loads (Product Exposure) - Products introduced virtually and sold via brick and mortar
2- Sales from High Traffic Loads -

Metrics are very very important for website success- Metrics can be viewed using analytics software such as google.com/analytics (Free

Who comes to our site

How long do they visit

What pages are hit the most

At what point do they leave the site

What software are they using

What is their internet connection

Architecture is based on a specific audience, your customer
Interaction Designs are created based on user behaviors and needs this includes,
The Task Analysis of users
The Interactions necassary to complete the tasks of the site

Poorly designed products are the way they are because more effort is placed on engineering the thing that actually designing it.
(Book Reference,- Dont Make me Think ) Is your site a billboard, cause your users are browsing at 80 MPH.

Your site might work, but your engineers are the only ones that can navigate it well enough to use it.

Engineering is based on making a site function.
Here is a good design contrast site

here are some bad examples of poor interaction design

“Do you love your iPod, but keep getting tangled up in the earbud cords? Sonny and Michael Baird of TuneTether have the solution. Their simple product keeps your earbuds where they belong: around your neck and not on the ground where they can become damaged or create a tripping hazard. A simple, elegant solution for those who are active when using their iPod, Sonny and Michael explain where they got the idea and how they were engaging in guerilla marketing on the Macworld Conference & Expo show floor.” MacVoices #718

As Sonny, my brother from another mother, some friends of ours and myself, scoured the floors of the Moscone center we met up and talked with several enthusiastic individuals. We interviewed many people about the release of the TuneTether. New Media Blends has aided in the web design, product design, packaging and marketing packets.

We had some interviews with some awesome editors and productions people. Here is one from MovableBeast.com Just about everyone on the Macworld editing team received a TuneTether including Dan Frakes, the senior editor. Just about everyone of the Apple iPod consultants Have a TuneTether along with Steve Jobs’ Personal photographer. She came right up to us and wanted her Tunes to be Tethered.

We also interviewed several of the Expo attendees to get there reactions on the product. It was great!!!

The TuneTether was a great success. Robin Williams even got one! check it out.

Also there were some great media people there. We met with most of the Macworld magazine editing staff as well as several PR people from Apple, B&H photo, and more. We met Steve Jobs’ personal photographer as well as several excited consumers. Many were excited about the iphone and the apple TV releases but i was mostly excited about the first release of a Mac tablet called ModBook.

Right now TuneTether.com is offering a buy one get one free use the coupon code “MIGUEL” add 2 TuneTether’s to your cart and enter the coupon code. Then you will get one free!!

I thought I would actually use this weblog to fullfill its purpose… logging on the web. Yes that is where the name blog came from… I laugh when i think that i made this because i have nothing interesting to write about, as you can already percieve if you have made it this far down the page.

Anyway. I played a little Counter-Strike on my Mac/PC and now i am ripping King Kong and putting it on the 5G iPod.. yahoo for apple and their geniusness.. now me and the wifey can watch movies the whole 12 hour trip. i guess we are doing this drive for 3 hours switch thing… i hope i dont have to drive through Nevada.

So yahoo for stikipad… As I was researching new Rich Internet Application ideas, i came across this seemingly amazing RIA. It seems to be alot like basecamp. It allows you to create a wiki and include other Authors. Its kind of like a developmental weblog that allows you to upload files, post writeboards, images and other things and of course, with its wiki-esque commenting capabilites, others can post comments and create a depth of field for your topic. Browse and enjoy.

Finally, after all of the anticipation, I have made my first post. Whoopty Do. OK, so I have started learning about remote scripting. It seems very interesting.

I have recently read this helpful article from sitepoint.com about AJAX. What a wonderful way to dynamically load content into your browser, just like desktop application. As I messed around with some code, including the popular javascript, “Prototype” this included, Javascript, PHP, HTML. Where the HTML holds Forms that point to the .php script. This PHP script calls a script for the input of the form. It then Dynamically loads this information from the form to the HTML page via javascript and PHP. There is a special AJAX.js that you place functions that tell the php to write to the HTML dynamically. See the AJAX example here or download the sourcecode here

The method to this madness has been initiated by a coop work experience that is being corelated with UVSC and my place of employment. Rivetal.comThis article from sitepoint was really helpful to my understanding of AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript And XML). Check it out here
